Road Closure Notice – New Tomahawk Road (CR 34) SCHEDULE UPDATE

ROAD CLOSURE – SCHEDULE UPDATE

New Tomahawk Road will not open by September 19th as originally scheduled.  Delays related to material suppliers will extend the closure until the week of September 21st.  I anticipate that Lake County’s contractor will be able to get the road open by the middle to end of the week. 

Lake County and Lake County’s contractor have been coordinating project schedules with MnDOT and MnDOT’s contractor related to the scheduled closure of Hwy 1 and planned use of the New Tomahawk Road as a detour for Hwy 1.  Both roads will not be closed at the same time.  We anticipate the Hwy 1 closure will be in place with the detour signed on New Tomahawk Road the same day or day following the opening of New Tomahawk Road. 

The posted ATV detour will be removed shortly after opening the New Tomahawk Road.
